Get Paid To Read Emails (1 Email = $3.00?) — Scam Or Legit?

Can you really get paid to read emails?

So, we check our phones or computers and read emails every single day, but what if you could turn your daily inbox check into an opportunity to earn real cash?

Well, guys, there are a ton of videos going around lately on YouTube saying you can earn one, two, and even $5 per email you read right on Gmail.

This obviously caught my attention, and I decided to investigate. So, welcome back to another episode of Scam or Legit, where I test out popular money-making opportunities to see if they hold up.

Now, there are some serious scams in this one, but also some really cool, unique opportunities to make money using your email, so you don’t want to miss this one. Let’s get to it.

>> Get Paid with 200+ Websites and Apps; Start Making Money Online with Zero Investment.

Alright, Just starting off, I want to share one of the videos that caught my attention and the video I’m following in all of this because I’ve seen these get-paid-to-read-email type of videos all over YouTube right now, and it’s time to debunk them.

So, this is a recent video from the Cash Pro Channel, and the video is titled “One Email Equals $2: Get Paid to Read Emails Worldwide.” Let me just start out by saying that the beginning of this video and the first couple of minutes make absolutely no sense.

I mean, the first four minutes are promoting some Android game that doesn’t even involve reading emails for money. So again, I’m kind of confused.

I don’t understand why this video has so many views, but I decided to investigate.

And so, once you make it through this weird intro, Cash Pro’s video basically tells you about a couple of different websites where you can sign up, get emails sent to you every single day, and if you open and read those emails, you get paid.

Now, this sounded too good to be true to me, so what did I do? Well, I signed up, I got a bunch of emails from these companies, and I’ll tell you guys how much I made and if the side hustle is actually worth it.

Paid Email Site 1

Alright, so getting paid to read emails. How does this side hustle actually work, and what are these websites all about?

Well, as it turns out, there are some companies out there that are willing to pay you small amounts of money to open and read emails, but here’s the catch:

You usually have to open the email and then click on something in the email if you actually want to get paid.

For example, you might get an email that says, “Hey, we’ll pay you X amount of dollars or pennies if you read this email, click on this link, and then click on an ad on that page.”

Now, this is actually a form of click fraud, which I find super funny, but there are companies out there that are buying human clicks on ads or different programs to make money for themselves, and they’re paying you a little bit of money in exchange for that click.

So again, very sketchy, kind of funny, kind of odd, but does this side hustle actually pay you, and what are your options here?

Well, the first popular site that pays people to read emails is called Paid to Read Email, and this is the first website I signed up for that’s also covered in Cash Pro’s video.

This website is super simple. It’s free to sign up for; you just need your Gmail, and then you even get a $3 sign-up bonus off the bat. Sounds pretty sweet, right?

Wrong. This website is such a waste of time. My experience with the site is off to an awful start.

So, I signed up for Paid to Read Email on April 24th, and I got my $3 bonus and all, which is pretty nice. But since then, I’ve received a grand total of two emails.

I’ve read them both, and I’ve earned four pennies. So yeah, I’ve been a member of this site for a couple of weeks, I’ve received two emails, and I’ve made 4 cents.

So, it looks pretty good. And guys, really, Paid to Read Emails is more of a GPT site. It’s not really paying people that much for reading emails.

I mean, if you look around the site, the main way to make money is by doing surveys, shopping online, or signing up for things, but the rates are honestly horrible, and it pays way less than leading GPT sites like FreeCash or PrizeRebel.

It barely has any good offers, and I think the paid-to-read email side of things is really just a clickbait hook.

It’s not even sending you that many emails and it’s paying you pennies for every email you get.

Again, the $3 bonus sounds great and all, but I don’t think you’ll ever be able to cash out with this site, so I think it’s a waste of time.

Paid Email Site 2

The second paid-to-read email site I tried out is a website called FusionCash.

So, FusionCash looks a bit better. I signed up, and I got a $5 sign-up bonus after I completed a partner offer, which was signing up for Survey Junkie.

So, not a bad start. FusionCash is another very popular paid-to-read email kind of website out there.

It has its own daily cash email program that pays you 2 cents for every single email you open per day.

But here’s the thing: the emails you get are pretty strange, and they have some very specific instructions.

For example, one of the emails I got basically involved clicking on an ad, following the page, and then waiting 60 seconds on that page before clicking on something.

This is clear click fraud, like this is just buying a click that looks like a human click, but you’re being paid to do so, and it’s just such a silly industry, at least in my opinion.

But here’s the thing with FusionCash: it didn’t even work for me.

I got these emails, I’d click on them, I’d wait and watch these ads, or I’d go to these weird websites, and I’d click on other things, and I never actually got paid for doing anything.

On top of that, after using the website for about two days and testing it out, I just got banned for seemingly no reason — no explanation, nothing.

Now, again, FusionCash has all kinds of offers, like you can get paid to click on different things and you can watch videos to earn, but you also need $25 to cash out, which is just an enormous amount in the world of GPT sites.

So again, FusionCash has all these bells and whistles. It looks like you can just earn money by opening your Gmail and getting all these emails, but in reality, I think most people will either get banned or just not get paid.

Scam or legit?

So, reading emails for money—getting paid to read Gmail emails, making your inbox into a passive income source—is it a scam, or is it legit?

Guys, I really have to call this one out as a pure scam. Cash Pro’s entire channel kind of annoys me.

I mean, this video is just so dishonest, saying you can earn one, two, or even $5 per email that you receive.

I’ve tested out these sites; I’ve read reviews about them as well, and the math just ain’t mathing.

Not to mention that this whole industry of click fraud is a bit weird, so I don’t know if you necessarily want your email getting spammed with these kinds of fraudulent offers or just sketchy offers.

If you click on links from your email, that might be a way to get hacked or to have your information stolen, so I don’t even think it’s that safe.

Ultimately, I think the video from Cash Pro is just clickbait. It’s really dishonest and misleading, so it’s a thumbs-down, and I’m calling this one a scam.

Better Methods To Try

But of course, I want to wrap up this article with some really cool ways you can get paid by reading your emails, or at least some ways you can get unique money opportunities sent to your inbox every single week.

The first idea that I wanted to share was to use a website called User Interviews.

This is a market research panel that lets you apply to different focus groups and studies.

It’s a website I’ve used for months at this point, and it’s super cool because it basically sends you focus groups and studies that you can sign up for right from your inbox.

I actually qualified for a study late last year with User Interviews, and I made about $50 in about 30 minutes just by hopping on Zoom with a user researcher and answering some questions.

So again, I got the invite through my email, I signed up on User Interviews’ website, and I made about $50 for half an hour of work, which I thought was pretty cool.

Once you make your User Interviews profile, you don’t have to do anything.

They’ll email you with opportunities that match your profile, and some of them pay $50 to $100 per hour, so there’s a lot more money on the table than reading spammy, weird emails for like 2 cents.

One of the emails I received today from user interview I uploaded this screenshot on the 16th of July 2024 you can check the date below the screenshot

Respondent.io is another one, and it’s super similar to User Interviews. Again, you sign up, you complete your profile, and then you get market research and focus group opportunities sent your way.

These are just some examples of better ways to get money-making opportunities sent to your email every single week.

You can also do things like subscribe to job alerts, and sign up for different remote job websites that send gig opportunities your way.

There are lots of ways that you can get these opportunities sent to you, and I think you should stay away from these pay-to-click-type websites because I don’t think they’re worth it.

Really, our inboxes are kind of like the final frontier. I mean, there are Gmail ads at the top, but I feel like our inbox is the one place we’re not bombarded with ads quite yet.

So, I would definitely suggest not signing up for these pay-to-click scam email sites. Stick with something like User Interviews or Respondent.io; they’re a lot better.

Anyway, guys, that does it for another episode of Scam or Legit. I know this article might have been a bit unhinged or a little bit different in format than usual, but I frankly just can’t believe the amount of clickbait out there from channels like Cash Pro and others that are just straight-up lying.

If you see videos saying you can make one, two, or five dollars or more for reading Gmail emails in your spare time, run the other way because it is too good to be true.

Now, if you have a different experience with this kind of thing or you want to let me know your thoughts on this article, I’d love it if you could comment down below. But yeah, that really does it for this one, guys. Thank you so much for reading.
