Earning per 1000 views can vary in medium from $10 to $100. However, apart from views, earning significantly depends on reads and engagement (claps, highlights, response, and reading time).

I am going to show you how much I earned with 1k views. The above range ($10 to $100) is a very generalized number and anyone can fall in this.

The amount I earned with exactly 1,000 views shocked me! Seriously. In general, an ad network pays hardly $10 in 1k views but in medium it is huge.

Earning by an ad network greatly depends on how much advertisers are bidding for a particular space along with the region.

But medium is a unique platform and the earnings depend on how member readers engage with a story. For an average story, it is easy to generate $25–40 per 1000 views on medium.

Yes, I earned $54.30 on medium per 1000 views. It has 699 reads and 67% read ratio as you can see above.

Again, as I said it depends on story to story. But it won't be much low.

I also didn't expect to earn $54.30 on 1000 views. I think, readers able to resonate with the story.

For example, one of my other stories made ~$47 per 1000 views on medium. Even though the read ratio was higher, the engagement was less.

These earnings are just from 1 story that crossed 1k views. This story is also my highest earning ($54.30) story so far. You can check the link below after this story.

So, what does it mean? How much does medium pay per 1,000 views? In my case, medium pays $40–55.

But for other writers it could be higher and for others, it could be as low as $20. It depends on the quality of your story.

👉 This analysis clears one more thing — getting huge views is not the guarantee of huge money. It all depends on the quality of the story and how valuable it is to readers.

This is why, I always emphasize the quality of story and engagement.

Also, I recommend fellow writers to just focus on these two things. Don't bother about views, earning, and all.
