CES 2025 consumer electronics exhibition featured many unique phone models from Chinese brands such as TCL, Oukitel, Tecno or Poco.
CES is an annual technology event held in Las Vegas (USA), this year taking place from January 7 to 10. According to ZDnet, CES no longer displays many smartphone prototypes like previous years. However, phone companies still make their own mark, especially Chinese brands, with a series of devices with rare designs or features.
Smartphone battery 33,000 mAh
Chinese manufacturer Oukitel launched three smartphones at CES 2025, each with a unique element. Among them, the WP100 Titan has a battery capacity of 33,000 mAh, becoming the smartphone with the “biggest” battery on the market, providing a standby time of 6 months.

The WP100 Titan is described as “heavy as a brick”, forcing the manufacturer to include a strap in case it falls during use. The device integrates a 1,200-lumen camping flashlight on the back, a 100-lumen DLP projector for images at a 120 Hz refresh rate. The phone can also serve as a power bank for other devices with a maximum charging capacity of 66 W.
In terms of configuration, the device is equipped with a Dimensity 7300 chip, 12 GB of RAM, and three rear cameras. Oukitel has not announced the time and price, except that it will launch a Kickstarter campaign in February.
Smartphone with removable screen on the back
Oukitel has brought back the idea of modular smartphones with the WP200 Pro. The back has an additional area for attaching a separate device, acting as a display screen, or can be removed and added with a strap like a smartwatch, or even worn on the ear to use as a Bluetooth headset. The screen has full touch functionality as well as health monitoring features like a smartwatch.

WP200 Pro has a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen, runs on Dimensity 8200 chip, the world’s largest 24 GB RAM (can be upgraded to 72 GB virtual RAM), 1 TB internal memory and 108 megapixel main camera. The manufacturer has not announced the price and time of sale of the product.
Flexible modular smartphone
The third version of the Oukitel WP300 has a modular groove on the back to remove the screen like the WP200 Pro. However, the device can be replaced with more removable modules, such as headphones, camping lights… depending on the user’s needs. These modules are sold separately.

WP300 runs on Dimension 7050 processor, 12GB RAM, 512GB storage, 6.8-inch 120Hz screen and 16,000mAh battery. The device has a super durable design, military-grade impact resistance, aimed at users who are often in contact with construction sites, explorers…
Smartphone with e-ink screen switch key
The TCL 60 XE Nxtpaper 5G is rated by Tom’s Guide as “unique and useful” when equipped with a hard key that can switch from a color screen to a black and white e-ink screen to use as an e-reader. In a mode that TCL calls Max Ink Mode, users can experience the content displayed “as on paper”, avoiding eye damage and distraction.

In color mode, the display displays a full 100% sRGG color gamut with a Delta-E color accuracy of less than 1 (the best level is 0). While not as good as an OLED panel, the display’s performance is considered good compared to devices in the $200 segment.
The TCL 60 XE Nxtpaper 5G also has a range of AI features, such as swiping three fingers in an email to automatically write a letter based on the content you received, or editing photos with artificial intelligence tools. The device uses a MediaTek processor, 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory. The rear camera cluster consists of three lenses, with a 50 megapixel main sensor. The front camera has a resolution of 32 megapixels.
Smartphone with “sparkling” back
At CES 2025, Tecno didn’t actually introduce a smartphone, but showed off a concept back cover using a design called Starry Optical Fiber. The first phone with this back cover is expected to be the Tecno V Flip 2, which could debut at MWC 2025 in February.
To create the Starry Optical Fiber, Tecno uses 150 ultra-thin optical fibers, each with a diameter of 0.125 mm, combined with 108 mini LEDs fixed on it, creating a fabric-like structure. There are 30 different manufacturing techniques used to make the back cover and controlled via special software. According to Tecno, there are four modes: Tidal Waves, Rosy Sunset, Aurora and Weekend Dusk with different effects, which can be combined with sound to increase liveliness. Besides smartphones, this design can also be applied to tablets or laptops.
Iron Man version gaming smartphone
Poco X7 Pro Iron Man Edition is a version inspired by the character Iron Man. Unlike other phones based on superheroes that are only equipped with features and themes about that character, Poco’s phone has a 3D embossed design on the back.

Specifically, the back of the Poco X7 Pro has the image of Iron Man’s mask, which when swiped over will create a beautiful surrounding effect. Kate Miwk, owner of Miwk Books – a famous storage and collection system in the UK, assessed that this phone will be a valuable collectible.
Aimed at gamers, Poco’s smartphone has powerful specifications with a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate, the Dimensity 8400 Ultra chip announced last month, 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. The device uses a dual 50 and 8 megapixel camera, a 6,000 mAh battery, and is equipped with 5G. The price of the device has not been announced.
